At two centimetres thick you could its practically lose it down the side of the sofa, yet it still packs a respectable film watching 13.3 inch widescreen and 1280-800 resolution gives it crisp graphics and vibrant colors.
So lets focus on aesthetics's a feature which the Macbook air has in abundance. Lets start with the lid no annoying clasp or catches a simple magnetic latch holds everything in place just as it should be. The ports fold down in a simple yet beautiful way.
The keyboard is full-size with crisp keys just like the ones on MacBook. But the MacBook Air goes further by adding backlit key illumination, making it easy to work in low-light settings such as aeroplanes and geeking up at night. A built-in ambient light sensor automatically adjusts keyboard and display brightness for optimal visibility.
The MacBook Air includes a big almost over sized touchpad with multi-touch technology. You can pinch, swipe, or rotate to zoom in on text, advance through a photo album, or adjust an image. apple call it gesture input just like on the iPhone.
With a screen depth of 1.94cm , A Width of 32.5 cm its ultra portable but most impressively it weighs just 1.36 kg
On the technical side here are its specifications
80GB 4200-rpm Parallel ATA hard disk drive as standard and a optional upgrade to a 64GB solid state,a none upgradeable 2gb of Ram, a 1.6 GHz processor as standard with an available upgrade to 1.8 GHz and most importantly an Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory makes it a nice mid range laptop, however the macbook air lacks a internal disk drive a microphone plug it also only has mono sound and only one usb 2.0 plug makes this a rather mediocre laptop at a top range price.
With the cheapest macbook air costing a overpriced £1,199.01 that's with no addons not even a disk drive.
A mid range that's with the same as above but with a MacBook Air SuperDrive, 1.8 GHz,and a 64 GB solid state drive costing
£2,00.93
A top end laptop that's a MacBook Air SuperDrive, 1.8 GHz,and a 64 GB solid state drive,a MagSafe Airline Adapter which allows you to get power from a aeroplane but not a cars 12v socket, an Ethernet adaptor and an apple remote; costing
£2,150.00
The top end laptop and software which includes all the above and iwork '08, final cut express 4,aperture, logic express 8 and Apples apple care protection plan [APP] for one year; costing a unbelievable. £2,262.01 WOAH
so all in all yes its nice and shiny but it seriously lacks power and peripheral support i personal would rather buy a low end powermac than i mid-high range macbook air
Thanks for reading
